    webRDP is a cross-platform, Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) client capable of accessing Microsoft Terminal Servers, Windows Remote Desktops, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructures. The client was designed for companies and developers that want to integrate an embedded RDP client into their hosted, SaaS, and web applications.


    The webRDP client is designed to operate in two modes:

    • Web Client - The webRDP client will embed itself into an existing web page or web application. The configuration settings must be supplied via the web application or page.

    • Stand Alone - The webRDP client displays a configurable user interface allowing the end user to provide connection and settings information.
  • Basic Client Features

    This section will provide a list of features that are available in the webRDP basic client. These features are supported in both the stand alone and web client implementations.

    • Cross-platform, RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) client
    • Runs as an embedded client inside a web browser (HTML iframe)
    • Runs as a stand alone client with graphical user interface
    • Supports remotely connecting to Windows Terminal Server 2003, and 2008
    • Supports remotely connecting to Windows XP SP2 Professional, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 running Remote Desktop
    • Supports passing of Startup Programs, Username, Password, IP Address, and Port
    • Supports performance tuning such as disabling desktop background, font smoothing, desktop composition, menu animations, and themes.

    Advanced Client Features

    This section will provide a list of features that are available in the webRDP advanced client. They are in addition to the basic client features.

    • Fixed an issue where a blank, unresponsive dialog causes the application to hang. (BZ #4746)
    • Enabled the license to be loaded from a war file in "WEB-INF/lib/license", with or without a .war extension. (BZ #4667)
    • Created an option to prevent close message dialogs from displaying with the "/s" command-line parameter and the "setoption" applet parameter. The option "close-messages-off" prevents the close message dialogs from displaying. (BZ #4584)
